Abc Fund

As Anne Bickmore Swimming has raised some £15,000 over a number of years through sponsored swims, it was decided to form a Fund of their own.

What do we do?

This Fund raises money to provide comforts for local disadvantaged children and their families. We hope to put a smile on the faces of families who live with illness and disabilities day in and day out, year in and year out.

How do we spend your money?

You will need to look at our donations list on our charity web page.This year we are planning three summer outings. We take socially deprived children from Brighton to The Enchanted Forest where they were able to play. We provide the coach, pay the entrance fees including a boat ride. We are also taking a group of children from the Whitehawk to Wilderness Wood, Hadlow Down where they will build a shelter, make a camp fire and cook sausages and marshmallows. They also have an opportunity to play in the adventure playground. We are also providing a coach from Eastbourne to Clambers, Hastings.

We are busy planning Christmas and have 300 pantomime seats booked in Worthing and we are returning to Eastbourne again this year to fill another 300 seats. We shall of course be doing our Christmas hampers again.

To date we have presented some 1,000 Spencer bears to the ambulance service for use on the A & E ambulances when dealing with traumatised children. Age Concern have also knitted 95 bears which have also been donated to the ambulance service in the area.
