CHRISTMAS Hampers As you would imagine, we have been under even more pressure to supply even more hampers than last year. Thank you to all of you who have so generously donated goods and money to our appeal. Southern Water are coming in to help with shopping and packing. My house looks like a supermarket with tins, packets, etc. trailing the stairs, landing, hallway, dining room and lounge. Presents We are very grateful to the Disney Store for supplying us with Christmas presents this year. We have spent two afternoons wrapping and labelling some 80 presents to be distributed to local children. If you are aware of any families in need, perhaps you could let us know. DONATIONS We have received donations from Peacehaven Infant School, Grays Infant School, The Police Property Act Fund, Little Horsted School, The Edward Starr Charitable Trust, Keith Francis (marathon runner), Little Dippers, Eastbourne Sovereign Inner Wheel Ladies. BRIGHTON MARATHON 2012 Darren Bass is running again. Mandy Murray is entering for the first time. Gary Norman from Brighton is also running. Andy Joyce from Hove has also taken up a charity place. Lois Fayre from Worthing is running on our behalf. Mark Rayner is taking up the last place. PANTOMIME We have already booked all 374 seats in the Stalls to see Robin Hood at the Devonshire Theatre Eastbourne on Wednesday 21 December. Let’s hope it doesn’t snow for a third year running and ruin our plans. Edward Starr Charitable Trust has agreed to provide the selection boxes once again. SUMMER OUTING In August, we took 30 children and their carers to London by train to visit the Science Museum. Most of the children had never been to London or even on a train. It was a day to remember for all the right reasons. We are now looking at Summer 2012. EVENTS MANAGMENT TEAM BRIGHTON UNIVERSITY Our Race Night earlier this year was so popular that we have been chosen once again. Prime Events are putting on a Strictly Come Salsa event next year - more details to follow. PEACEHAVEN YOUNG MAYOR Megan Foster has chosen us as her charity of the year. We are also being supported by her school, Peacehaven Community School.
